Tuesday 16th - 10th Blog

REFLECTION
I have now caught up with the blogs I had lost. I had found it very frustrating losing my Blogs but now that I have finished i can get started on my Google Earth tour once again.
INFORMATION
Ludius Matuius was a training facility used to train Gladiators. Built in the reign of Domitian in 51-96AD, in the area of the Coliseum. The training area trained animals hunters and animal fighters.
Beast Fighters or bestiari were often criminals and were not trained well enough to stand a chance against animals.
Beast fighters and animal hunters were very different although commonly confused.

The Stadium of Domitian also known as the Circus Agonalis. Agon translating to games in the English language also the the word of agony. The Stadium of Domitian was a major sports venue positioned to the North of Campus Martius in Rome. The Stadium was commissioned around 80AD by the Emperor Titus Flavius Domitianus as a gift to the people of Rome. The stadium is 160m long and well under ground level. Although the Stadium was built to hold games it is unlikely that Chariot races were held. The Stadium was built around the time the Palace of Domitian.
